Run for the Cure: Bloggers for Boobies
Note to all who came here on a Google search: this is not the site you’re looking for if you’re looking for pictures of boobies.
When I wrote my last post, I honestly didn’t expect people want to join me in a team for the Run for the Cure. But within a day of getting it out there, I got a message from Alexis who wanted to join me. We discussed it and hummed and hawed about putting together a team. Our biggest roadblock was that we didn’t have a team name. And with only two of us, it seemed we wouldn’t be eligible for any team prizes etc. So it wasn’t a big deal to us.
I was sitting at work, thinking about a possible team name when a stroke of brilliance hit so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. It’s a good thing I emailed Alexis right away because otherwise I would have forgotten. My brilliance, although unmatched in amplitude, is often fleeting. (She said, modestly)
And thus, Bloggers for Boobies was born. It’s a family and friends team because, well, both Alexis and I have had family and/or friends who have been touched by cancer of one form or another.
So when I changed my registration and had the team set up, I knew Alexis was going to sign up. Imagine my surprise whens someone I had never met, named Ginger had joined as well. And then Tracey joined.
So I’m asking you: if you’re a blogger (or if you can impersonate a blogger) or if you know someone who’s been touched by cancer (and don’t mind hanging with blogger types), join us. Men and women alike (note the team name is Bloggers FOR Boobies, not Bloggers WITH Boobies). You don’t have to run; the rules let you walk (either 5K or 1K) And if we get more than 10 members, we get snazzy t-shirts.
The run isn’t until October 2, so you can sign up any time! But the earlier the better because we want to raise lots of cash for Run for the Cure!
Or if you’re unable to walk or run for whatever reason, you can still donate to Bloggers with Boobies.

I just joined – I can’t believe I’m doing this!
