A far better person than I
I have a friend. Her name is Sunshine. And she is the best friend you’d ever have. She’ll give you the shirt off her back and the skin off her teeth. She’s always, always been there for me for whatever I needed, whenever I needed it. She carried me through the two worst events of my life. She’s the kind of friend, that even if you don’t talk for a year, its like you’ve never been apart.
She has a Master’s Degree in English Literature (Science Fiction). She wrote about Buffy the Vampire Slayer for her thesis. She completed that in middle of some big family trauma. She is kind, and generous and calls things like they are. It’s a bit of a running joke that she’s a little tactless (but I suspect this is only with friends).
She has a coworker who is dying from kidney failure and is unlikely to get a transplant in time.
Sunshine has been going through medical testing to see if she’d be a good match. And it turns out, she is.
Next week, she goes in the hospital to have a kidney removed to give to her coworker.
Sunshine, you are a far better person than I am. And I am honoured to be your friend.

Thank you love
You are one of my oldest and dearest friends, and that means a lot to me. I love that we can just pick up where we left off…and in case we forget in our dotage in 40 years, we'll have Shannon to remind us!
You can send healthy, happy thoughts my way for Monday – and come and visit and keep me occupied
Yay, Sunshine!
That is awesome. You have a fabulous friend
Wow, Sunshine… you rock.
Sending out the positive vibes that everything was a success!!!
